Plans for a new Clydebank Care and Health Centre are underway following an appeal to the Scottish Government from MSP for Clydebank and Milngavie, Gil Paterson.
The current health centre on Kilbowie Road in Clydebank was one of the first NHS funded health centres in Scotland and is now over forty years old. The Clydebank Health Centre has provided the citizens of Clydebank with access to talk to their GPs about any health issues they are having and it faces many issues day to day such as lack of appointments available outdated facilities.
MSP Gil Paterson talked to Clydebank News about the new services which will be available at Clydebank’s new Heath and Care Centre. He said:
“The new health centre is bigger and will have the same doctors that are in the current health centre. However, because the building is larger there is a capacity to take in more doctors. But what will be the added to that is a wide range of other services.
“In the new building we are getting a pharmacy, mental health services and a few other things added in. This means that instead of turning up and then having to go to the hospital or a pharmacy afterwards, a lot more services will be delivered in the health centre.”
